Description
Thomas Jefferson is considered the author of The Declaration of Independence. Not only was he the third President of the United States, he was also United States Minister to France and later the first United States Secretary of State (1790–1793) serving under President George Washington.
He may well have been the smartest of all the Founding Fathers and was very much aware of the dangers of banking, which makes the quote, "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies." all the more important to remember in our modern times.
